In short: TranslateXD does not sell data or use advertising or cross-app tracking. When you start translating, selected audio is sent through a temporary session to OpenAI. Translations and chat messages are stored in our service to provide history and, if you link your Apple ID, cross-Mac sync.

1. Controller

TranslateXD is a product by danielatik. For privacy questions or data requests, email daniel@notesxd.com.

2. Information we process

Audio and translations

The app accesses only the sources you select — microphone, system audio or both — and only while translation is active. Audio is transmitted to OpenAI through an encrypted connection using a temporary credential to generate the translated transcript.

History and chat

To let you return to a conversation, we store its title, translated text, source and language for each segment, and creation or update dates in Supabase. When you use chat, your question, the active translation used as context and the generated answer are processed through our AI service; messages are stored with that translation.

Data stored on your Mac

  • Language, source and opacity preferences are stored locally.
  • A random installation identifier and, if used, your Sign in with Apple identifier are stored in the macOS Keychain.

Account, usage and purchase data

To apply free limits, manage trials and validate subscriptions, we may process the installation identifier, Mac name, usage seconds, plan, subscription status, transaction information and your Apple user identifier if you choose to link it. We do not receive your card number.

Website

This website contains no advertising or analytics. It uses browser local storage only to remember your language and theme choices. The hosting provider may record standard technical data such as IP address and user agent for security and operations.

3. How we use information

  • Provide the requested live translation.
  • Store, organize and retrieve translation history and its chats.
  • Answer questions using the active translation as context.
  • Manage quotas, the free trial and Premium access.
  • Restore purchases and, if you link your Apple ID, sync history and access across Macs.
  • Prevent abuse, protect the service, troubleshoot failures and meet legal obligations.

5. Retention and deletion

Translations and their messages remain in the service history until you delete the conversation in the app or request deletion. The installation and Apple identifiers may remain in Keychain after uninstalling; you can remove them through Keychain Access. We retain quota, subscription and security data only as long as needed to provide the service, meet obligations and prevent abuse.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability. You may also revoke permissions in System Settings → Privacy & Security, decline to link your Apple ID, delete translations and chats in the app or stop using the service. We respond to verifiable requests within the applicable period.

7. Security

We use encrypted connections, temporary translation-session credentials and macOS Keychain for sensitive identifiers. No system is completely secure; if we discover a relevant incident, we will act as required by applicable law.

8. Children

TranslateXD is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children's information without required authorization. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data improperly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product, providers or law changes. The current version and update date will be posted here.
